CabTec offers two families of Kraft batch
cooking systems
The Digester Steam Saver system (DSS)
is designed for steam savings. The Displacement Digester System (DDS) is
designed for a higher steam saving than the DSS as well as adding chemical
benefits for low kappa high strength fiber (extended delignification). The
following table is a summary of the systems offered as is:

DDS -
Digesting Systems

We supply Displacement Digester
cooking
systems for hardwood, tropical hardwood,
softwood and bamboo. The Displacement
Digester System (DDS) is based on the Beloit RDH process and is the only displacement digester system in the world with proven
experience using bamboo as a furnish.

DSS - Digester Steam Saver Systems,

We supply kraft conventional batch digester cooking
systems for hardwood, tropical hardwood,
softwood and bamboo. The DSS is designed to save energy at a low cost.
This system does not offer the beneficial chemical effects of a true
displacement digester system.
